This week, Glenholme homes embraced the joy of National Dog Day with some very special four-legged friends. Pets can have an incredible impact on wellbeing, bringing comfort, companionship, and plenty of smiles to residents.

At Thimbleby Court, Activities Coordinator Ellie introduced everyone to her dog, Bruno, who was quickly adored by residents and staff alike. His playful nature and affectionate personality made the day extra memorable.

Meanwhile, at Bispham Gardens, Monty the therapy dog continues to be a much-loved visitor. Residents look forward to his visits every fortnight, and we are grateful to his owner, Gary, for generously giving his time and sharing Monty’s calming presence.

Vera James House also enjoys regular visits from Doug the therapy dog and his owner, Sarah. Their time together is always warmly received, and the home is now looking forward to welcoming a new therapy pet, Tallis the cat, in the near future.

These moments of connection highlight the important role animals can play in care environments. Whether it is through laughter, comfort, or a simple cuddle, our residents always benefit from the joy that therapy animals bring.
