Residents and staff from Holdingham Grange recently enjoyed a fascinating day out at the Newark Air Museum in a visit that held special meaning for several of the group.

The museum, located on the site of the former RAF Winthorpe in Nottinghamshire, is home to an extensive collection of aircraft and aviation memorabilia. For a number of Holdingham Grange residents, the visit was particularly meaningful, as several are proud Forces Veterans. The trip offered a wonderful opportunity for them to reminisce and reconnect with their experiences in the military.

Throughout the day, residents and staff enjoyed exploring the exhibits and identifying various aircraft on display. The group spent time discussing different models and their histories, with the Veterans sharing personal memories and stories sparked by the aircraft they recognised.

The visit was not only educational and engaging but also an occasion filled with conversation, reflection, and connection. Staff were proud to support the residents in an outing that clearly resonated with many on a personal level.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved, and one that will be fondly remembered by the Holdingham Grange community.
