“At 102 and partially sighted, my mother still wanted independence (in her own home). Thank goodness that she was persuaded to go to Thimbleby Court initially for 2 weeks and shortly afterwards on a permanent basis. It helped that everywhere looked clean and spacious, including her comfortable room, and later that her own possessions, including pictures and even her electric reclining chair, made the room more homely. There are so many positives, the staff were all caring and helpful, facilities are excellent and the whole place is purpose-built. An unexpected plus was for my 2 giant breed dogs (loved by mum) to be welcomed into the home. In the last 3 weeks mum has been on palliative care and all the staff, especially nursing staff, were excellent, treating her with tenderness and dignity. The whole family have expressed genuine gratitude for the way mum has been treated.”
“This is an excellent care home in every respect. My friend feels he has joined a family. Staff are warm and welcoming and clearly feel valued as employees. Management are responsive to requests and needs of individual residents. The home has a calm and orderly atmosphere without being clinical, it is very homely. Cleanliness is to the highest standard.”
“My husband spent 5 weeks in temporary respite care whilst I went to visit my daughter in New Zealand. My husband really enjoyed his stay & didn’t want to come home!
He was kept busy with lots of entertainment & enjoyed helping out whenever he could.
He loved all the staff & really enjoyed all the meals etc. I would highly recommend the care provided here to anyone needing temporary or fulltime care!!”
