PROPOSAL FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF

FORMER CARE HOME ON EMLYNS STREET, STAMFORD, PE9

INTRODUCTION

Glenholme Healthcare Group is pleased to present our outline proposals for the renovation of the three-storey former care home located on Emlyns Street, Stamford, PE9.

The proposed development will transform the site previously occupied by Red House care home into 11 modern supported living flats for people with Learning Disabilities. Each flat will be designed to accommodate the needs of individuals living with various conditions such as autism spectrum conditions, social, emotional or communication difficulties, and others with learning disabilities that require support in their daily lives. The project will incorporate communal areas to allow residents to socialise, as well as adequate staff facilities for those providing support. Externally, the plan includes on-site parking for staff at the front of the building.

BENEFITS TO THE STAMFORD COMMUNITY

  • The flats promise to cater to the surrounding area’s growing need for supported living homes for people with learning disabilities.
  • Glenholme is deeply committed to fostering enduring ties with the Stamford community.
  • Transforms the site of the run-down former care home into a development featuring visually appealing interior and exterior spaces.
  • Designed to foster a sense of connection for residents with the local community

HIGHWAYS

A supported living service creates relatively low levels of traffic even at its peak times and the impact of vehicles on Emlyns Street, along with neighbouring roads, will be very low. Staff changeover times avoid peak traffic times and will not increase the number of vehicles currently on the road at this time.

Vehicles will only be used by staff and not residents, reducing the number of vehicles often expected when developing a site for housing.
